A developer is set to add to its multifamily portfolio in Hudson County with its plans for a new 56-unit apartment building in Bayonne.
The firm, MonGroup Properties Inc., said it recently acquired the project site on the Northeast corner of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and West 7th Street to build the five-story building. When complete, the project will offer a mix of 39 two-bedroom and 17 one-bedroom apartments at 175 West 7th St., with a focus on environmentally conscious features such as an outdoor green roof deck, energy-efficient appliances, clean air ventilation systems and toxic-free flooring.
The Shewsbury-based developer said the building will also feature high-end appliances and finishes, with amenities including an on-site fitness center, private parking garage and storage units. It will sit less than a half-mile from the 8th Street station on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and NJ Transit bus service, offering easy access to Manhattan, Staten Island, Jersey City and other nearby areas.
The firm did not immediately provide details about the timeline of the project.

The announcement follows MonGroup’s recent completion of Jaclyn Heights, a 155-unit community in West New York that saw the firm successfully redevelop a former handbag factory.
