Prologis Inc. has promoted Read Mortimer to senior vice president and investment officer for the New Jersey market, the real estate investment trust announced Thursday.
Mortimer, who will oversee all capital deployment activities in the region, has nearly 20 years of real estate industry experience ranging from encompassing acquisitions and debt originations to portfolio management, according to a news release. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in more than $5.5 billion of property transactions involving more than 32.5 million square feet of commercial space.
“Prologis’ state-of-the-art facilities are the gold standard for clients across the region, bringing important jobs, investment and economic activity to New Jersey and beyond,” Mortimer said. “I’m particularly excited to continue our track record of responsible and sustainable development that represents the future of our industry.”
Mortimer joined Prologis in July 2022 as an investment officer in the Lehigh Valley, where he was responsible for capital deployment activities in Pennsylvania, the news release said. His contributions during his tenure include managing complex entitlements, building and land acquisitions and supporting multiple markets.
He’s also a former senior vice president with Rubenstein Partners, where he was responsible for new acquisitions, loan originations and asset management in various markets, overseeing equity capital raising and formation, while serving as a member of the investment committee. In a previous role as a vice president at Starwood Capital Group, Mortimer focused on distressed debt and office investments, including a deal involving a national office portfolio consisting of 11.9 million square feet across more than 90 buildings.
Mortimer also held positions with TA Realty, Mesa West Capital and Overton Moore Properties and worked as a real estate attorney with King & Spalding, the news release said. He holds bachelor’s in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, a juris doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and a master’s in real estate development from the University of Southern California.
