FirstService Residential has named a new regional director in its high-rise division, bolstering its property management team along the northern New Jersey waterfront.

The firm said that, in the new role, John Reichart will oversee the company’s portfolio of more than 60 managed high-rise communities in the state’s Gold Coast region. He brings more than 19 years of real estate and community association experience, including 14 years at Silverman.
“We welcome John to the team,” said Michael Mendillo, president of FirstService Residential. “It was important that we find the right candidate that could bring not only a wealth of industry experience and expertise but who could also bring a deep knowledge of the local market.”
In a news release, FirstService said Reichart’s new duties include planning and developing initiatives to align with company policies, culture and best practices. He will also serve as a strategic business partner who works closely with the board members in the communities that the company serves.
“I am excited for the opportunity to work with this amazing team,” Reichart said. “FirstService Residential is the clear leader in the residential property management industry, and I look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the company.”
Reichart is also a retired NJ Transit Police sergeant. He spent the last 11 of his 14 years with Silverman, a Jersey City-based developer, as director of operations and broker of record and is a former president of the Historic Downtown Jersey City Special Improvement District.
What’s more, Reichart was an elected member and vice president of the Jersey City school board, the news release said. He is currently a member of the New Jersey Apartment Association legislative committee and is co-founder and chair of the Jersey City Apartment Owners Association.
In his new role, he will report directly to Arthur Bartikofsky, the senior vice president in the FirstService high-rise division.
“We are excited to have John join our team,” Bartikofsky said. “His proven leadership and extensive experience in high-rise communities will expand the depth and quality of the resources we provide to our clients and associates.”
