ON THE HORIZON
While 2023 was a complicated and uncertain year for many in the commercial real estate legal industry, MSW maintained continued growth, helping our clients close significant transactions, renegotiated loans, secured noteworthy land use approvals and obtained tax credits for large-scale development projects. We anticipate continued growth in 2024, which will likely be led by the firm’s national Distressed Real Estate practice. The firm’s statewide Land Use, Zoning & Redevelopment, Tax Credits & Incentives and Real Estate Finance practices are also gearing up for a busy year, as clients look to reposition assets, explore alternative funding solutions and seek government incentives to help close financing gaps.

- Private equity fund in connection with modification of a $96 million loan for a mixed-use medical office/multifamily building in San Francisco, CA.
- Lender in connection with the modification of a $57 million loan for an office building in Arlington, VA.
- Seller in connection with the $49.5 million sale of an industrial building in Union County, NJ.
- Tenant in connection with the lease of a 240,000-square-foot industrial building in Phillipsburg, NJ.
- Landlord in connection with the lease of a 160,000-square-foot warehouse facility in Rahway, NJ.
- Developer in connection with obtaining a $90 million tax credit award under the Aspire Tax Credit Program for a 14-story, 350-unit multifamily development in Newark, NJ.
- Developer in connection with obtaining a $49.5 million tax credit award under the Aspire Tax Credit Program for a multifamily development in Newark, NJ.
