An investor has acquired a 2,200-square-foot commercial building and an adjacent two-family home in Bloomingdale, in a transaction arranged by NAI James E. Hanson.
The real estate services firm announced that it represented Waldo LLC in the sale of 217 Hamburg Turnpike, the longtime home of Walker’s Deli, and the neighboring residential property. The new owner plans to renovate the commercial building and reopen the space as a high-end café geared toward commuters on the thoroughfare, among other plans.
NAI Hanson’s LJ Koch completed the assignment for the Teterboro-based firm. Terms were not disclosed.
“Although this was a unique property, we were able to tailor a marketing strategy for the two buildings that attracted a buyer searching for an ideal investment opportunity,” Koch said. “Deals like this highlight how we utilize our market knowledge and experience in northern New Jersey to ensure that our clients are able to receive top dollar for their properties in a competitive marketplace.”
The new café will feature unique coffee drinks, homemade baked goods and fresh, made-to-order breakfast and lunch items, according to a news release. The new owner also plans to make substantial improvements to the freestanding two-family home at 219 Hamburg Turnpike to generate additional income from apartment leasing at the site.
