Preferred Freezer Services will open its ninth cold storage warehouse in the region next year with the addition of a 197,000-square-foot facility in Kearny, the company said.
The cold storage warehouse, set to open in summer 2018, will add freezer space needed to support the growing needs of the Chatham-based company’s customers in this area. The new facility will located off Interstate 280 and New Jersey Turnpike Exit 15W, sitting between the Newark Turnpike and Bergen Avenue.
It will be Preferred Freezer’s 38th cold storage warehouse in the United States overall. The company also plans to open new facilities next quarter in the Houston Gulf Coast are and Chicago.
The Kearny facility will have a storage capacity of more than 30,000 pallets, stand 58 feet high, offer 24 dock doors and reside minutes from the largest port complex on the East Coast, the company said in a news release.
“Recognizing the need for more frozen storage capacity in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, we are delighted to announce our newest cold storage facility,” said Brian Beattie, president of Preferred Freezer Services. “It is through our consistent culture of ‘customer first’ attitude that PFS continues to secure existing client partners as well as attracting new prospects.”
