The New Jersey Builders Association will honor six of the state’s most influential homebuilders tonight, when industry leaders gather for an annual fundraiser for the organization’s political action committee.
As part of an end-of-summer event in Asbury Park, the NJBA is recognizing member companies K. Hovnanian, Lennar, Premier Development, PulteGroup, Ryan Homes and Toll Bros. for their major contributions to the industry. Association CEO Carol Ann Short said the companies “have been instrumental in spreading the pro builder message of the NJBA,” adding that “their dedication, time and sacrifices do not go unnoticed.”
Proceeds from the event will go toward the Builders Political Action Committee, or BPAC.
“We are excited to have this opportunity to celebrate the tremendous work that our members are doing. The contributions to the Builders Political Action Committee go a long way,” Short said. “These contributions are used to elect candidates that positively influence the housing industry in New Jersey.
“Homeownership is the cornerstone of the American Dream, so these donations are directly impacting millions of families that seek a better life.”
The NJBA Summer Soiree is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. at The Asbury, a new high-end hotel at 210 5th Ave. in Asbury Park. The gathering follows a similar end-of-summer event last September that the NJBA hosted ahead of state’s gubernatorial and legislative elections.
With tonight’s event, the association hopes to continue its efforts to have a say in public policy that impacts residential and mixed-use development.
“The longtime commitment of these member companies deserves to be recognized,” Short said. “They understand that an investment in the BPAC pays extraordinary dividends in the future because of the impact that the housing industry has on the economy all around the state.
“We work together to give every New Jerseyan a great place to call home, and we do our best to make New Jersey the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
