The United Way of Northern New Jersey has tapped JLL to help it consolidate its footprint in the region, starting with the sale of an office condominium in Morris County.
The nonprofit is seeking to streamline the number, location and type of office spaces needed to best serve the northern New Jersey region, JLL said in a news release. In Cedar Knolls, it is selling a 5,767-square-foot condominium unit at 222 Ridgedale Ave., which is located between Hanover Avenue and Vista Drive, just minutes from downtown Morristown.
“JLL is advising United Way of Northern New Jersey regarding the optimal configuration and location for its operations,” Jonathan Meisel, managing director of JLL, said in a prepared statement. “The nonprofit currently has six offices throughout the region and is looking to consider alternatives that allow the maximal use of resources to address the needs of the community.
“The sale of the Cedar Knolls property will better position the nonprofit to serve all the communities in the region.”
Meisel is overseeing the assignment with JLL Associate Conor Dolan, the news release said. They will work closely with John Franklin, CEO with the United Way of Northern New Jersey.
United Way of Northern New Jersey, which focuses on education, income and health, was formed in 2011 when five United Way chapters merged, bringing together Morris, Somerset, suburban Essex, Sussex and Warren counties. A sixth community, Millburn-Short Hills, joined the regional entity in January 2014.
The regional nonprofit now operates offices at 60 South Fullerton Ave. in Montclair, 44 Main St. in Millburn, 222 Ridgedale Ave. in Cedar Knolls, 1011 U.S. Route 22 West in Bridgewater, 2 Spring St. in Newton and 699 Washington St. in Hackettstown.
“It’s an incredible opportunity to work with United Way to help the organization continue its charitable efforts in New Jersey,” Dolan said.
