Construction is underway on a project that will bring nearly 955,000 square feet of new industrial space to the Salem County township of Pilesgrove.
According to Peak Construction Corp., which is building the warehouse on behalf of NorthPoint Development, the facility on Pointers Auburn Road will be the first piece of Turnpike 1 Trade Center off Route 40 and roughly four miles from Interstate 295 and the New Jersey Turnpike. Plans for the 954,701-square-foot building call for a 40-foot clear ceiling height, 96 docks, four drive-in doors, 190 loading spaces and parking for 244 trailers and 536 cars.
Peak, which is working alongside studioNorth Architecture and Dynamic Engineering PC, expects to complete the project in the fourth quarter of 2024. According to a brochure for the development, Turnpike 1 Trade Center is slated to include nearly 3.8 million square feet across four buildings, boasting a location that’s 12.7 miles from the Port of Wilmington, 39 miles from the Port of Philadelphia and 114 miles from Port Newark-Elizabeth.
