A biopharmaceutical firm has extended the lease for its 90,000-square-foot headquarters and research and development facility in South Plainfield, its landlord announced Tuesday.
The owner, National Realty & Development Corp., said it completed the new deal with PTC Therapeutics Inc. for the space at the Middlesex Business Center. PTC occupies three of the 11 buildings at the complex, which sits on Corporate Boulevard just off Interstate 287.
Charles Parmelli of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant, which focuses on discovering and developing novel oral treatments for patients with serious and life-limiting disorders. NRDC Executive Vice President Brian Sekel represented the landlord in-house.
“Middlesex Business Center entertains a quality mix of tenants, many of whom are prestigious leaders in their industry,” Sekel said. “We are pleased that MBC’s convenient, central location can continue to offer the requirements that PTC Therapeutics is looking for.
“PTC has been our tenant in South Plainfield for the past 18 years and we look forward to continuing our long-term relationship with them.”
All told, Middlesex Business Center spans 489,000 square feet and includes office, warehouse and flex space.
