The NRP Group has made a key addition to its team in the region, hiring Matt Tryder to help grow its third-party construction business across the Northeast.
Tryder, who brings more than two decades of experience, joins the Cleveland-based multifamily builder as vice president of construction business development. He’ll be based in the company’s New York office and report to Ted Kramer, executive vice president of construction at NRP.
“Multifamily construction in the Northeast comes with its own unique challenges, including limited site availability and stringent regulatory requirements that add unique construction costs,” Tryder said. “NRP’s deep expertise, national scale and ability to operate as both a developer and builder allows us to anticipate these complexities and deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions that set us apart. I’m excited to take on this new role and help drive the continued growth of NRP’s third-party construction business.”
In a news release, NRP noted that it has more than 30 years of multifamily construction experience spanning affordable, workforce and market-rate housing communities in major metropolitan areas. The firm has built more than 60,000 units in 17 states across the U.S., while it currently manages some 30,000 residences in 12 states.
Tryder, a former senior construction manager at Mill Creek Residential and Hines, has more than 22 years of experience in the multifamily housing and construction industry throughout New England and the Northeast. His expertise spans everything from concept budgeting and feasibility to design coordination, scheduling, production and dispositions.
NRP noted that Tryder’s responsibilities include driving new business opportunities, cultivating relationships on the ground and increasing the company’s third-party footprint in New York, New Jersey and throughout the Northeast. He will be responsible for guiding projects seamlessly from preconstruction to completion and ensuring long-term project success.
His work will help expand a platform that for years has partnered with the likes of Amazon Housing Equity, Inland Realty Group, Provident Realty Advisors, AIG Global Real Estate, Goldman Sachs and Urban Atlantic to deliver apartment homes in major metropolitan areas, the news release said. As it expands, NRP said it was leveraging technology to streamline operations and prioritizing sustainability to reduce its carbon footprint.
“As we continue to strengthen our third-party platform, we are excited to welcome new talent that enhances our ability to deliver exceptional results,” said Dan Hull, the firm’s president of construction. “Matt’s expertise in project execution, client relations and strategic problem-solving within the construction process will be invaluable to our partners navigating complex financial environments and market volatility.”
