Onyx Equities has launched online ordering at The Junction at Gateway Center, the new 100,000-square-foot dining corridor inside the downtown Newark office complex.
Powered by DoorDash, the platform allows users to place pickup orders at several of the new eateries that have opened in recent months, including 375° Chicken ‘n Fries, Chip City Cookies, Farinella Artisanal Pizza and Bakery and fresh&co, according to a news release. Notably, the system allows for group orders from multiple restaurants, providing a useful feature for office catering.
Onyx added that Uncle Willie’s Wings, Mökbar, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop and Kamasu by Kissaki will soon join the platform.
“This latest innovation introduces an extraordinary opportunity for our office tenants and the downtown community — a seamless online ordering platform that not only simplifies individual orders but also group and catering orders,” said Jon Schultz, co-founder and managing principal for Onyx Equities. “By embracing technology, we’re transforming the way we share and savor the joy of food, which further redefines convenience and culinary excellence in the workplace.”
The Junction is part of a massive overhaul of the four-building, 2.3 million-square-foot complex across from Newark Penn Station and of its busy pedestrian concourse. Onyx, which leads an investment group that acquired three of the four Gateway buildings in late 2018, has sought to create a new hub for dining and hospitality for the thousands of daily commuters in the complex and for the broader population in and around downtown Newark.
The firm recently announced that Kamasu by Kissaki had signed on to be the 11th dining option at the complex.
