Leasing is underway at PEEK Properties’ newest multifamily project in Orange, a 99-unit midrise property just north of Interstate 280 and two blocks from NJ Transit rail service.
The building, located at 49 South Day St., is the second of three phases at the firm’s Orange Crossing project. Its newest offering is a collection of upscale studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes with amenities such as a rooftop terrace with seating areas, oversized planters and skyline views, along with a modern fitness center and a resident lounge.
PEEK said it designed what’s known as Summit Orange Crossing, which is pet-friendly, with young-professional career starters and advanced-degree students in mind. Move-ins are set for Aug. 1.
“Ideally suited for first-time renter, career-starter professionals seeking an affordable urban-apartment lifestyle, Summit Orange Crossing offers attractive unit features, on-site parking at no additional cost, a security deposit waiver and a four-minute walk to commuter rail service,” said Darla Rodriguez, the firm’s director of property management, who noted tours started in mid-June.
“There are about 10 restaurants (and) dining establishments, a post office, Orange Public Library, a supermarket and shops in the immediate vicinity and several colleges like Seton Hall University, Bloomfield College, Caldwell University are nearby,” she added. “Of course, the main attraction is Orange Station, offering 20-minute service to Midtown Manhattan, and three doorstep-bus stops along South Day Street.”
Located between Railroad Place and Crane Street and Freeway Drive, the project follows the 2022 debut of APEX Orange Crossing at 276 Reock St. PEEK noted that its Summit property has an automated ground-floor parking system that has been used at its sister building for two years with positive reviews by residents, while renters have easy access to both highways and mass transit.
“Another key incentive for leasing at Summit Orange Crossing is our Good Neighbor Program for educators, nursing professionals and first responders, which we launched at The Highland, our property near Highland Station, and has been well received,” Rodriguez said.
To be eligible, applicants must provide proof of certification and employment at a state-accredited school, health care facility or first responder employer. Incentives include two months rent-free with an 18-month lease or a 12-month lease with paid security deposit insurance for up to two years.
In addition, PEEK provides one-year Netflix or Hulu subscriptions for featured units.
