J.G. Petrucci Co. Inc. has broken ground on nearly 260,000 square feet of cold storage space in Vineland, in a project that marks a major milestone for the company.
The developer and design-build firm said site work is underway at 1615 West Garden Road, a 43-acre site that’s less than a mile east of Route 55 and minutes from other major highways in the region. The 256,100-square-foot, high-bay freezer and cooler facility will house a leading international cold storage company, as Petrucci expands its portfolio in the sector.
In the process, the 36-year-old firm has now developed projects in more than 100 municipalities. They include 51 in its home state of New Jersey, 46 in Pennsylvania and one each in Texas, Delaware and Massachusetts.
“We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone as we break ground in our 101st municipality, Vineland, New Jersey,” said Jim Petrucci, founder and president of Asbury-based J.G. Petrucci. “Our team has built a reputation in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that we are proud of. Maintaining strong relationships with local municipalities has been instrumental in our success.”
In announcing the project, the firm noted that 1615 West Garden Road provides easy access to Interstate 295. It also pointed to Vineland’s strong economic base development, tax abatement programs and broad mix of industries, while the location is within a day’s drive of more than a third of the U.S. population.
Petrucci’s broad portfolio in New Jersey and Pennsylvania has included buildings housing the likes of Curtiss-Wright Corp., DHL, Evident Corp., FedEx, St. Luke’s University Health Network and many others.
