Strong development pipelines have increased the need for Builders Risk insurance. USI’s exclusive Builders Risk Program addresses the expensive and limited market with broad coverage and terms, high sub-limits for Flood and Earthquake and other enhancements at highly competitive pricing.
Recent nationwide events have highlighted the need to protect property from acts of terrorism and damage associated with riots and civil commotion. USI has expanded our TerrorSafe (Terrorism) Insurance Program to include options for Strike, Riot and Civil Commotion (SRCC). This program is available as a standalone policy or by endorsement to USI’s Sabotage & Terrorism or Active Response policies.

TRANSACTION SPOTLIGHT
USI successfully on-boarded a national, publicly traded REIT with a diversified portfolio of properties. Renewing during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were presented with risk challenges at their Assisted Living locations as well as their Retail / Strip center properties. USI was able to negotiate full coverage for Communicable Disease on their General Liability policy when the rest of the market had broadly excluded this due to the pandemic. In addition, they were faced with vacancy issues within their retail portfolio that we solved creatively through manuscripted policy language adopted by our selected Property insurer.
