Prologis has tapped a construction industry veteran as a new vice president and development officer in the company’s New Jersey and New York region.
Erik Egger, who recently joined the logistics real estate giant, comes to the role with more than 27 years of experience in construction. He most recently was the director of design and construction for North America at Iron Mountain, where he led a team of project managers responsible for all major construction builds across the North American portfolio.
Egger’s responsibilities with Prologis include managing property development in the booming New Jersey and New York region. He is based in the company’s office at One Meadowlands Plaza in East Rutherford, which it recently redesigned to accommodate its growing team and better reflect the company’s culture.
To that end, Prologis in the past two months has added 10 members to its roster in New Jersey and New York, bringing its headcount to 65 and up from 35 in 2019.
“The New Jersey/New York region represents one of our fastest-growing markets, and we’re always seeking top talent to support over 400 customers, including smaller to midsized businesses, major brands and third-party logistics providers,” said Jesse Harty, senior vice president and market officer for Prologis. “Our people are the key to our success, and we’re excited to develop our employees in this market and continue to drive innovation across the logistics industry.”
Egger’s responsibilities with Iron Mountain covered all construction-related activities associated with greenfield and brownfield projects, retrofits and fit-outs in the company’s data center division. Prior to that position, he was an owner’s representative at Jones Lang LaSalle.
Egger holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and a master’s in project management from Stevens Institute of Technology.
