Prologis Inc. has delivered more than 574,000 square feet of new industrial space in Gloucester County, adding to a footprint that includes nearly 200 facilities in New Jersey.
The real estate investment trust is working alongside Cushman & Wakefield to lease the property, located at 198 Democrat Road in East Greenwich, touting its immediate access to Interstate 295 and Route 130 and its proximity to the Port of Philadelphia and Philadelphia International Airport. It noted that the facility also has key sustainability and resiliency features, including two ponds to help with stormwater runoff, along with 40-foot clear ceiling heights, LED motion-sensor lighting and 5,000 square feet of office space.
Prologis unveiled the 574,480-square-foot building this week alongside East Greenwich Mayor Jim Philbin, Police Chief Matthew Brenner and Fire Chief Gerald Hall.
“This development is a testament to the power of collaboration between our community and Prologis,” Philbin said. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact this investment will have on East Greenwich’s economy.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s John Gartland, Jonas Skovdal and Sean Duncan lead the leasing team for 198 Democrat Road. The facility, which figures to generate jobs alongside nearby employers such as Barry Callebaut, Burlington and Target, has achieved a silver certification on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the completion of this modern, sustainable logistics facility with the East Greenwich community,” said Mike Sacro, senior vice president and market officer at Prologis. “Facilities like this one are critical to communities, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods for businesses and residents, supporting the local economy and creating new jobs.”
According to a news release, Prologis has had a presence in New Jersey for nearly 30 years. Its roughly 190 buildings here are home to some 250 companies with 52,400 employees, serving as important business hubs while strengthening the local economy and tax rolls.
