Six retail tenants have combined to lease more than 15,000 square feet in Bergen County, in a series of transactions arranged by Cushman & Wakefield.
The operators, which include dining and personal services, involve commitments by brands that are new to and expanding in the local market, C&W said in a news release. The largest among them is a 5,500-square-foot lease by Dulce De Leche, a New Jersey-based regional chain of café bakeries, at 55 West Palisade Ave. in downtown Englewood.
C&W’s David Townes and Alana Friedman represented the landlord, Glenmore Management, while Colliers International represented the tenant in the transaction.
Townes and Friedman also represented Krispy Kreme in a 3,200-square-foot commitment at 51 Route 17 South in East Rutherford, the news release said, marking the doughnut concept’s first Bergen County location.
In Paramus, the brokers represented Firenza Pizza in leasing 2,000 square feet at Paramus Crossroads, a new development at 295 Route 17 South. Jamie Sackheim and Vicki Ezra of The Dartmouth Co. served as landlord brokers for the end-cap unit, which will serve as Firenza’s second New Jersey location and its first in Bergen County.
Meantime, Townes and Friedman represented both parties in The Empanada Shop’s recent 1,400-square-foot lease at 30 Park Ave. in Rutherford.
“Restaurants are expanding rapidly in our region and nationwide, and we are fortunate to represent some of the most desirable tenant types,” Townes said. “In our roles as tenant and landlord representatives we are seeing a great synergy as consumers seek both dining convenience and variety in shopping center settings.
“The same holds true for personal services, where boutique concepts are sought-after additions.”
In that sector, Townes and Friedman represented ownership at 110 Market St., a newly developed shopping center in Saddle Brook, in a 1,800-square-foot lease with Moxie Blow Dry and Beauty Bar. The deal marks the fifth Bergen County location for the growing northern New Jersey chain.
Friedman also represented Muah Makeup & Lash Bar in a 1,650-square-foot commitment with The Hampshire Cos. at 180 Westwood Ave. in Westwood.
