A farmers market will be the latest addition to a 220,000-square-foot shopping center in Bergen County, according to brokers with Ripco Real Estate who arranged the transaction.
In a news release, Ripco said it represented ownership in the deal at 189 Route 46 West. The operator, Saddle Brook Farmers Market, is leasing 5,000 square feet from TriState Commercial Realty LLC, the owner of what’s known as Saddle Brook Square.
Daniel Zappala and Alison Horbach of Ripco brokered the deal from the firm’s Lyndhurst office.
“We’re excited to see the market open,” said Zappala, also a Bergen County resident, noting that there are more than 265,000 people living within a three-mile radius of the site. “That’s a lot of shoppers. The market will provide a valuable service to Saddle Brook and the surrounding communities.”
Saddle Brook Farmers Market is part of an established produce and grocery group, Ripco said.
It is expected to open in the first quarter of 2018 in a space formerly occupied by Beach Bum Tanning, bringing Saddle Brook Square to full occupancy.
“Although the nature of retail may be transitioning, we continue to see businesses seeking out quality retail opportunities in New Jersey such as this one,” Horbach said.
