Development firm RMS Cos. has leased up a new 153-unit luxury apartment property in Union Township, as it looks to build on the success of its first project in New Jersey.
The company, which is based in Stamford, Connecticut, marked the milestone less than 10 months after the launch of leasing at what’s known as Canter Green. In doing so, it has successfully revitalized a former salt factory property at 1255 Magie Ave., about a mile from Route 28, paving the way for other development opportunities in the state.
“We have been overwhelmed by the positive response that Canter Green has received from the community evidenced by achieving full occupancy in less than 10 months,” said Patrick Carino, who spearheads acquisitions and development for RMS. “The property was designed to be an urban oasis due to its quiet residential location and expansive indoor and outdoor amenity package. As a result of this success, RMS is excited to continue to search for development opportunities in northern New Jersey.”
The firm, which builds luxury apartments and boutique hotels, made its entrance to the state after more than 20 years of developing in Connecticut. It took control of the 6.4-acre site in Union in 2019 before breaking ground the following year and debuting Canter Green last summer.
Amenities at the building include an in-ground pool, a cardio and core strengthening fitness center, a private on-demand yoga and spin studio and resident lounges, among others. The collection of one- and two-bedroom units also has a meditation room with a Himalayan salt wall, a children’s playroom, a multisport golf simulator and a pet space.
