Scarinci Hollenbeck has tapped one of its longtime attorneys as the new head of its environmental team, the Lyndhurst-based firm announced.
In his new post, William C. Sullivan Jr. will draw on more than three decades of experience in his practice, which includes playing a key role in the redevelopment of the Meadowlands region and other projects throughout New Jersey. He also brings nearly 20 years with Scarinci.
“It is an honor to have been chosen to serve as chair and I am thrilled by the privilege to lead this prestigious group of attorneys,” Sullivan said.
The firm said that, over the past 30 years, Sullivan’s practice has spanned the full range of environmental and land use matters and representation in development and redevelopment projects throughout the state, with a special emphasis on the Meadowlands. Scarinci also cited his knowledge of land use permitting and various regulations as they relate to environmental compliance, which has enabled him to secure approvals for several major projects in the region, including those in the warehouse, hotel, restaurant, retail and multifamily sectors.
Sullivan’s experience also includes environmental land use permitting with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, including wetlands, flood hazard areas and coastal and tidelands applications, according to a news release. Additionally, he represents municipal land use bodies, including planning boards and historic preservation commissions.
“It has been a pleasure working with Bill over the years,” Scarinci Hollenbeck Partner Ted Schwartz said. “He is an enormous asset to the section and I have no doubt he will prove himself to be an excellent leader.”
