A unit of shipping giant DHL has taken more than 17,000 square feet of industrial space in Carteret, in a newly announced deal by Bussel Realty Corp.
Brokers with the firm represented the landlord, Seagis Property Group, in the transaction at 1001 Roosevelt Ave. DHL Global Forwarding will occupy 17,203 square feet at the 93,286-square-foot property, located just east of the New Jersey Turnpike in one of central New Jersey’s top industrial submarkets.
BRC Senior Vice President Jordan Metz, Vice President Eric Koons and Sales Associate Benito Abbate completed the assignment, while JLL represented the tenant.
“Inventory levels are still lagging while demand has continued for well-located, functional industrial properties,” Metz said. “1001 Roosevelt Avenue offers a true last-mile, highway-accessible location with high ceilings and ample loading docks. We are pleased to have represented the landlord, Seagis Property Group, in this transaction with DHL Global Forwarding.”
All told, 1001 Roosevelt has 17 tailboards and three drive-in doors, 15-foot ceiling heights, 400 to 500 amps of electric power, wet sprinklers and 40 surface spaces, according to a news release. The property is minutes from the Turnpike, Route 1& 9, Port Newark-Elizabeth and Newark Liberty International Airport.
