A commercial real estate attorney with Sills Cummis & Gross P.C. is among three practitioners to be promoted recently by the Newark-based firm.
In a news release, the law firm said Steven M. Gellerstein was named of counsel, effective Oct. 1. He practices in the areas of commercial real estate and business law, with a focus that covers the acquisition, sale and financing of real property.
Gellerstein has extensive experience in the closing of commercial mortgage loans in New Jersey and New York, representing borrowers and lenders, the news release said. He also has extensive experience in representing clients in the closing of securitized loans in the CMBS market.
He is admitted in New York and New Jersey. Gellerstein received his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and his bachelor’s from the State University of New York in Albany.
Sills Cummis also said this week that Lucas F. Hammonds and Vincent R. Lodato were promoted to of counsel. Hammonds practices in the areas of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy reorganization, representing creditors, creditors’ committees and other parties in complex Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases and related proceedings.
He is admitted in New Jersey and New York, having also received his law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Lodato practices in the areas of litigation and product liability, concentrating on defending product liability matters involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, consumer products and class actions, the news release said. He has also litigated various types of personal injury matters and commercial matters involving patents, trade secrets, contract disputes and employment matters.
Lodatao is admitted in New Jersey and New York. He received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Delaware.
