The Silverman Group has broken ground on a project that will bring 62 new luxury apartments and medical office space to a site just west of the Short Hills train station in Millburn.
The firm said Wednesday that it was eyeing an early 2027 debut for what it calls The Estates at Short Hills, at 85 Woodland Road, where plans call for a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes and upscale amenities. The offering will come with a location that is steps from shops and restaurants, directly adjacent to the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary and less than a quarter-mile from NJ Transit rail service, while renters will have easy access to Route 24, Interstate 78 and other major highways.
The project is also slated to include more than 10,000 square feet of street-level medical office space and a 192-space parking garage, with dedicated floors for patient and staff parking.
“Breaking ground on The Estates at Short Hills marks the start of a carefully considered project in one of New Jersey’s most sought-after neighborhoods,” said Blake Silverman, president of The Silverman Group. “With such a premier location, we saw an opportunity to create a refined residential offering that contributes positively to the community’s fabric. Our design reflects the timeless charm and character of Short Hills while also delivering a new, boutique style of housing to the area.”
Designed by Michels & Waldron Associates, with construction by Silver Line Development, The Estates at Short Hills will have amenities such as a rooftop terrace, an outdoor courtyard, a fitness center, a resident lounge and a game room, among others. Nearby destinations also include The Mall at Short Hills, the Paper Mill Playhouse and the South Mountain Reservation, while the downtowns of both Millburn and Summit are both a short drive away.
