A longtime broker with NAI Mertz has taken over as New Jersey chapter president for the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.

Roy Kardon, vice president with the Mount Laurel-based firm, has taken the helm among the slate of newly installed officers for the global trade association. He will help guide an organization that includes some 75 members in New Jersey.
All told, SIOR has 3,000 members in more than 630 cities across 34 countries.
“Serving as an SIOR officer for the past three years has been a tremendous honor, and I am excited to take the helm as this year’s president,” Kardon said. “In this prestigious role, I am committed to utilize my extensive expertise in the commercial real estate industry to guide my fellow SIOR members in our ever-changing market in New Jersey.”
Other SIOR New Jersey officers include Scott Perkins and Thomas Vetter of NAI James E. Hanson, who serve as vice president and secretary, respectively, and Jason Crimmins of The Blau & Berg Co., who serves as treasurer.
Kardon is an industrial and office sales and leasing specialist with more than four decades of industry experience, according to a news release. His recent activity includes obtaining 98 percent occupancy at Cherry Hill Commerce Center and the Village of Run of Pine Commerce Center, which total 375,000 square feet.
He holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Boston University and an MBA from Temple University.
