A development team has kicked off construction on more than 200,000 square feet of new industrial space in Woodland Park, touting a location just off Route 46.
With completion slated for early next spring, The Stro Cos. and Kushner Real Estate Group broke ground last week on the so-called 46/80 Logistics Center at 1150 McBride Ave. They joined local officials to mark the occasion, having completed demolition earlier in the week.
“Today was a major milestone that was five years in the making,” said Jack Shulman, Stro’s director of acquisitions and capital markets. “We are pleased to be partnering with KRE in creating one of the premier last-mile logistics facilities in northern New Jersey.”
Plans call for a 205,350-square-foot building with strong highway connectivity. The 15.5-acre site is about a quarter-mile east of Route 46 and less than a mile from Interstate 80. City National Bank is financing the project, which Stro and KRE announced in late March.
The firms say they are on schedule with construction and estimate that the building will be complete toward the end of the first quarter of 2022.
“We are excited to partner with Stro Companies,” said Jon Kushner, president of KRE Group. “With its great proximity to the city, and unparalleled access to main highways, 48/60 Logistics Center will be a sought-after logistics facility in northern New Jersey.”
Woodland Park Mayor Keith Kazmark was among those hand for last week’s groundbreaking ceremony.
“Woodland Park is an ideal location for any company looking for a distribution hub,” said Elliot Ferris, Stro’s director of leasing. “The building’s 36-foot ceilings, access to Route 46 and Route 80 and proximity to New York City create a tremendous amount of value for tenants who are looking to move goods quickly and efficiently to consumers.”
