If the leasing activity at Harlow is any indication, there are more good things to come for northwest Hoboken.
Advance Realty, the developer of the luxury apartment building, announced Friday that the 140-unit property is more than 50 percent leased barely three months after opening. Along with the demand for the building’s high-end units and amenities, the developer cited the draw of Harlow’s ground-floor retail space, which will be home to a new Trader Joe’s supermarket in the coming months.

It is the upscale grocer’s first location in Hoboken and Hudson County, in what has been a source of buzz in the city for more than a year.
“The overwhelming interest from both renters and our Hoboken neighbors has confirmed what we believed all along — that Harlow’s unique combination of luxury amenities and easy access to everything (The Mile Square City) has to offer makes it among the most desirable apartment buildings on New Jersey’s sought-after Gold Coast,” said Peter Cocoziello, CEO and president of Advance Realty. “We look forward to the continued success of this sought-after residential opportunity on this vibrant corner of Hoboken.’”
The news comes less than two weeks after Advance, which is bullish on the emerging northwest section of Hoboken, acquired a 128-unit property across the street from Harlow. Brokers say the firm and a global investment group purchased the property for $77 million.

In a news release Friday, Advance touted the high-end finishes, amenities and services at Harlow, along with its free shuttle service to the Hoboken PATH station. The property sits at 14th Street and Willow Avenue.
The seven-story building is about a mile from the Lincoln Tunnel entrance and Route 495, which provides access to the New Jersey Turnpike and routes 3 and 1/9.
“With easy access to public transportation and a secure, state-of-the-art parking garage on site, Harlow provides residents with an unparalleled level of convenience,” said Jacqueline Urgo, president of The Marketing Directors, which serves as the exclusive marketing and residential leasing agent for the property. “By combining the location with thoughtfully designed residences and one-of-a-kind amenities, Advance has created a building that will serve as a destination for the Metropolitan Area’s most discerning renters for years to come.”
