Doren Development is advancing plans to build a new Starbucks in Toms River after receiving local approval for the freestanding project.
According to the firm, the store will occupy 1.7 acres at 1632 Route 37 and include a drive-thru. That will allow the chain to expand its presence in the market with a location at a signalized intersection, revitalizing what published reports say is a mostly vacant site formerly home to a Lukoil gas station.
Doren Development is also building a new Starbucks in Union Beach, where it’s repurposing a former Bank of America branch.
“We’re proud to have secured approval for our new Starbucks on Route 37 in Toms River,” said Rick Doren, the firm’s president of operations. “This is a strong market with great fundamentals, and we’re excited to bring another premier national brand to the community.”
