The Urban Land Institute’s Northern New Jersey chapter has tapped a Bridgewater-based public relations professional to spearhead its outreach and engagement in the region.
The organization has appointed Dan Johnson, a senior account executive with R&J Strategic Communications, to the chapter’s advisory board. He will serve as the board’s public relations chair for fiscal years 2020 and 2021, working to raise awareness of the chapter’s key research and education initiatives while increasing engagement from members and industry influencers.
Johnson currently heads R&J’s commercial real estate practice.
“I am very proud to be a part of this remarkable community and I’m honored to serve on their advisory board,” Johnson said. “The state of New Jersey is home to a broad and diverse range of transformative real estate projects, making the great work ULI Northern New Jersey does more important than ever.
“I look forward to leveraging my expertise in strategic communications to help raise awareness of this work and foster productive conversations among members of the real estate industry to create strong, dynamic communities.”
ULI Northern New Jersey’s membership includes many of the state’s municipal leaders and most experienced real estate professionals across a variety of disciplines, according to a news release. The nonprofit research and education organization seeks to provide responsible leadership in the use of land in order to enhance the total environment, bringing together leaders from across the fields of real estate and land use policy.
“Dan truly has a passion for commercial real estate,” said Tiffany Miller, vice president of R&J Strategic Communications. “This appointment is a testament to that passion as well as his talent as a strategic thinker and partner. I have no doubt that the work he will do on behalf of ULI Northern New Jersey will be both meaningful and impactful for the organization.”
