Urban Edge Properties has leased a space at its Bergen Town Center property that will serve as the first East Coast outlet location for Splendid, a fashion retailer.
The 2,331-square-foot store, which will sell womenswear, children’s clothing and footwear, is slated to open this fall, Urban Edge said in a news release Wednesday. The tenant will join a host of other retailers and outlet operators at the indoor and outdoor retail property, which straddles Paramus and Maywood and sits just off Route 4.
“Splendid is a highly desired brand for the Bergen Town Center customer and adds a terrific new option to our apparel lineup,” said Chris Weilminster, the real estate investment trust’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “By choosing this location for their first East Coast outlet, their team is validating our belief that this property is a top regional shopping destination.”
Bergen Town Center includes Whole Foods, Target and CVS.
“We are excited to open our first Splendid outlet location on the East Coast at Bergen Town Center,” said Jim Walters, vice president of retail for Splendid. “This opening will allow us to better serve our community and introduce new customers to the Splendid brand. We’re planning a unique product offering that will be special to this store and community and look forward to making Bergen County our new home.”
