A property in Kenilworth will serve as a warehouse and shipping point for Tesla vehicles after a newly completed, 14,100-square-foot lease announced by The Blau & Berg Co.
The brokerage firm on Tuesday said it represented both parties in the transaction at 527 Springfield Road. The deal calls for Dana Development Co. LLC to lease the space and the two-acre property to LNR Auto Transport, a company that provides vehicle shipping solutions to top automotive manufacturers and will operate the space on behalf of Tesla Inc.
The operation includes servicing and transporting Tesla vehicles from Fresno, California, to New Jersey and ultimately delivering them directly to area dealers and clients.
Blau & Berg directors Brad P. Jacobs and Tamara J. Blau completed the transaction.
“Tesla has transformed the car industry narrative with its renewable energy and self-driving vehicles,” Jacobs and Blau said in a joint statement. “It was a pleasure to work with both Dana Development and Tesla allowing us to make this site fully operational, serving as a win-win for both the town and this major national company.
“Tesla continues to transcend and expand their distribution on the East Coast and we were proud to be a part it.”
In a news release, Blau & Berg said the property features a five-bay garage, a fenced-in parking area and the warehouse with additional parking, loading docks and a drive-in overhead door.
