Verizon Communications has renewed its lease and added to its already large footprint at a Livingston office complex, the owners of the property said Monday.
The landlords, Eastman Cos. and Long Wharf Real Estate Partners, said the telecom giant took an additional 44,000 square feet and now occupies nearly 200,000 square feet at Eisenhower Corporate Campus. The 385,000-square-foot property sits at 290 West Mount Pleasant Ave.
Eastman was represented in the deal by the brokerage team of Jeff Garibaldi, Michael Witko and Scott Garibaldi of The Garibaldi Group, the exclusive leasing agent for the property, along with Eric J. Maurer, Eastman’s director of leasing. Jonathan Meisel and Fred Hyatt of JLL represented the tenant, according to a news release.
Eastman Cos. in 2008 launched a multimillion-dollar capital improvement campaign to completely renovate and reposition the campus in order to meet the changing needs of tenants and accommodate a growing millennial workforce, the firm said. The complex is now approaching 100 percent occupancy, with only 56,000 square feet of office space remaining,.
“Our strategic reinvestment in ECC has played a key role in a number of new leases and renewals we have secured in recent years,” Michael Schofel, managing partner of the Livingston-based firm, said in a prepared statement. “Having an internationally recognized tenant like Verizon renew and expand its commitment by 40 percent is a testament to the premier business environment that we have created here.
“We look forward to being part of Verizon’s growth and ongoing success for years to come.”
Eisenhower Corporate Campus is also home to tenants such as John Hancock Life Insurance Co., Veritext and Citrin Cooperman. The campus sits on 33.5 acres, featuring a full-service cafeteria, electric car charging stations and a 600-vehicle parking structure with LED lighting and enhanced security features, along with a 200-seat auditorium within its conference center.
