Global architecture firm Gensler has added to its Morristown office with the hiring of a new design director.
In his new role, Roger Smith brings his expertise on project work in the fields of office development, mixed-use, hospitality and master planning, Gensler said in a news release. He has 30 years of industry experience, with previous roles including senior designer and associate principal at other global architecture firms and a local New Jersey firm.
Smith’s current projects include the repositioning of the existing buildings at the former Hoffmann-LaRoche site in Nutley and Clifton, where he is working on behalf of Prism Capital Partners. Gensler said he has also had worked on international projects in locations such as Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
He earned a master’s in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and teaches at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
