Global design firm Ware Malcomb has announced the promotions of Jon Anderson, Ed Wilkes and Claudio Breda in its Newark office.
Anderson, now a regional director, joined the practice in 2015 and most recently was a director after a promotion last year, according to a news release. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the Newark office and the overall growth of its branded Architecture Studio.
The firm cited Anderson’s leadership in successful projects including build-to-suit and speculative industrial facilities for a diverse range of clients.
“Jon’s impact on the Architecture Studio has been profound, marked by diligent work, patience and expertise in design and construction,” said Jay Todisco, Ware Malcomb’s president. “We look forward to Jon’s continued leadership and team development.”
Also rising to regional director is Wilkes, who joined Ware Malcomb in 2019 as its first East Coast civil engineer, the news release said. In his new role, he will be responsible for overall leadership and growth of civil engineering services for the Newark, New York, Washington, D.C., Atlanta and Miami offices.
Wilkes’ involvement on Ware Malcomb’s Civil Advisory Team serves the firm nationwide and provides insight to further the overall growth of its civil engineering department, the news release said.
“Ed’s leadership skills and business development acumen are a true asset to the firm,” said Chris Strawn, a principal. “His considerable hard work and support to his team have advanced Ware Malcomb’s reputation as the go-to for land development civil engineering design in his region.”
Breda, who has been promoted to studio manager, architecture, oversees team operations while serving as a go-to resource for understanding complex building systems, Ware Malcomb said. Since joining the firm in 2021, he has worked across diverse sectors including health care, restaurants, workplaces, industrial, office, public, technology and manufacturing.
He has more than 20 years of experience.
“Claudio has been instrumental in expanding our business into new markets, particularly health care, and we look forward to his continued success in this new role,” Anderson said.
Anderson earned his architecture degree from Philadelphia University, while Wilkes, a registered professional engineer in multiple states, holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from The College of New Jersey and an MBA from Rutgers University. Breda holds architectural licenses in New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Massachusetts and Delaware, having earned a bachelor of architecture degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and an applied science degree in interior design from Berkeley College of Business in New Jersey.
