Woodmont Properties and Canoe Brook Development have started construction on a new 116-unit luxury apartment property in Secaucus.
The joint venture said the project, located at 1631 Paterson Plank Road, will bring a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments to a site along the Hackensack River and minutes from the municipality’s downtown. The developers also touted its location within a residential cul-de-sac with a pocket park and three miles from the Lincoln Tunnel, providing a short commute into Manhattan.
“With each of our properties, we strive to identify walkable and vibrant locations that offer residents a unique lifestyle and experience, and our development in Secaucus is no exception,” said Stephen Santola, executive vice president and general counsel at Woodmont Properties. “Just a short distance away from American Dream, residents will have access to a wide variety of dining, retail and entertainment right in their backyard.”
Plans for the four-story complex call for apartments with upscale design, finishes and appliances, according to a news release. Select units in the building, which was designed Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, will include oversized terraces and/or balconies, while all residents will have garage parking.
Residents will also have access to amenities such as a clubroom with billiards and gaming, a modern fitness center with virtual on-demand classes, a children’s playroom and several outdoor courtyards with river views, the news release said. Those spaces will include a passive courtyard with garden beds and another more active outdoor courtyard that will feature outdoor grills and play areas.
“We’re thrilled to begin development on this truly stunning boutique luxury community,” said Jack Tycher, a partner at Canoe Brook Development. “With its location on a charming cul-de-sac and its walkability to several of the neighborhood parks and destinations, it’s sure to attract residents who are seeking convenience and access to some of the top amenities the community has to offer in close proximity to New York City.”
The property will also be minutes from the Meadowlands Sports Complex and a host of area restaurants and retailers.
