A global logistics and shipping company has leased a 20,000-square-foot warehouse in Carteret, in one of six recent transactions announced this week by Zimmel Associates.
In a news release, the real estate services firm said it brokered the lease at 18 Self Blvd. to Aeronet Inc. Zimmel Associates represented the owner of the building, one of 11 flex properties totaling 140,000 square feet in what’s known as Alard Industrial Park.
“They liked the building as it was move-in ready and located right off Exit 12 of the New Jersey Turnpike,” said Zimmel Associates Vice President Jaime Zimmel, who handled the transaction.
Zimmel also brokered the sale of 19 East Elizabeth Ave., a 14,000-square-foot, two-story industrial building in Linden, to F.C. Foods. The property traded for $1.1 million as part of a 1031 exchange, he said, noting that the building’s extended vacancy led to a favorable sale price.
Its new owner now “plans to fully renovate it to meet approvals for food manufacturing.”
The Edison-based firm also announced a 22,128-square-foot lease in East Hanover by Central Jersey Volleyball Academy. The operator signed a 15-year lease for the space at One Murray Road and was represented by Zimmel Associates Vice President Jordan Zimmel.
“This type of business requires high ceilings and clear span space with no columns, which can be hard to find,” Jordan Zimmel said. “One Murray Road is a new building and met all the tenant’s space and demographic requirements. It is zoned for recreational use and is located near schools.”
Zimmel Associates’ other recent deals include a 5,000-square-foot lease at 140 Smith St. in the Keasbey section of Woodbridge. The tenant, Scan Shipping, is an international shipping and logistics firm whose new home will be a five-story, 24,000-square-foot building just outside Raritan Center.
“The landlord, Parkway Corporate Center LLC, did a complete build-out to tailor the space for Scan Shipping,” said Jordan Zimmel, who handles the building exclusively for ownership and also represented the tenant in the transaction.
Meantime, Sales Associate Jason Zimmel arranged 1,200-square-foot office leases at 1090 King Georges Post Road in Edison and 906 Oak Tree Road in South Plainfield. The tenants were Transportation Services of America and a staffing firm known as ASC Corp. respectively.
