The mixed-use project known as Gateway in Atlantic City could take important steps toward starting construction in the coming weeks, the developer of the site said recently.
Speaking to The Press of Atlantic City, Christopher Paladino of the Atlantic City Development Corp. said excavation work for Gateway’s parking garage should begin this week. Similar work for a new Stockton University campus at the site, which would include an academic building and student housing, could begin a week later.
The project near Albany and Atlantic avenues is on schedule for an August 2018 completion, Paladino told the newspaper. It is part of an effort to diversify development in the cash-strapped casino resort, with plans also calling for a new headquarters tower for South Jersey Gas.
