Hollister Construction Services has completed its build-out of the new Jersey City headquarters of Nuts.com, a space that includes everything from swings and bleachers to a wall of dispensers with the company’s signature snack products.
The producer and distributor of nuts, dried fruit and other pantry staples retained Hollister as construction manager for its new 25,000-square-foot office. It now occupies the full 28th-floor penthouse at 10 Exchange Place, where the companies are touting a contemporary, open floor plan with an organic vibe created by wood and grass elements throughout the space.
Designed by Gensler, the headquarters includes a main pantry that provides employees with expansive seating options, a serving island, a beer tap area and a full coffee bar, according to a news release. The space also features a wall filled with dispensers releasing nuts and snacks for sampling, along with a distinctive metal structure with party lights to evoke the feel of a trendy New York City café.

Meantime, the office includes a sunken lounge area with views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Hollister said. Employees also have access to a custom hickory wood mezzanine with bleacher seating and an upper raised tree house lounge, which sits adjacent to a corner conference room a fully functional, industrial-style motorized overhead garage door.
“Through our partnership with Hollister, we were able to make our Pinterest board a reality,” said Jeff Braverman, CEO of Nuts.com. “They helped us day in and day out, fighting for us, even if it was beyond the scope. The final product speaks for itself.”
Hollister also highlighted the space’s main entrance, which has a decorative, 8-foot-by-5-foot wood door specifically made for Nuts.com. The new home houses other amenities such as a prep kitchen, collaborative areas, yoga and meditation room, themed break-out rooms, a freestanding glass lounge room and a huddle room with custom swings and turf area.
The construction services firm highlighted finishes such as stained concrete floors, quartz and marble countertops and wall tiles in the meditation room made from real coconut shells.
Nuts.com and its design and construction team have set out to achieve gold certification on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale.
