PEEK Properties has launched leasing at its new 39-unit apartment building in East Orange, the latest addition to an area near the city’s main business district and its Brick Church train station.
The developer this week announced the milestone at 475 William St., having tapped Striker Apartment Leasing of Clifton as its leasing agent. With construction now complete, the team hopes to lure renters to its mix of one- and two-bedroom units, with floorplans ranging from 655 to 1,020 square feet and a mix of modern features.
“The completion of construction and lease launch at 475 William Street marks two very important milestones for PEEK Properties and the City of East Orange,” PEEK Managing Partner Emanuel Klein said. “Our mutually held vision to advance the revitalization of the city’s central business district through exceptional design and construction is another step closer to being realized.”
The developer is also hosting a Jan. 15 open house at the building, which sits at the corner of William Street and Ashland Avenue. It noted that each home features high-end design, finishes and appliances, while the building has amenities such as a modern fitness center, a secure package delivery area and a second-floor tenant lounge.
There also are 39 garage and paved-surface spaces available for assigned parking.
“This property has transformed what was once a vacant building into a premier residential landmark at a time when demand for apartment-rental, urban-living options in the suburbs is on the upswing,” PEEK Managing Partner Phillip J. Evanski said. “Even during the construction phase, 475 William Street garnered tremendous prospective tenant interest and we are pleased to open our doors and help tenants get settled in their new home.”
Located three blocks from NJ Transit’s Brick Church station, which offers one-seat rail service to New York City, the property also is one block from Main Street’s local, regional and national retailers, PEEK said in a news release. These include ShopRite, Walgreens Pharmacy, Rita’s Italian Ice, Domino’s Pizza and Investors Bank.
