A developer has unveiled a new 123-unit senior living facility in East Hanover, the first piece of what is slated to be a new hospitality-focused brand in health care and real estate.
The Bloomfield-based firm, CHA Partners, has repurposed a former Sycamore Living location at 1 South Ridgedale Ave. to create a space that houses 86 beds for long-term care and 37 beds for senior living. Amenities at the 100,000-square-foot facility include smart technology, restaurant-style dining, outdoor courtyards and a “Main Street” showcasing a theater, gaming room, a full-service bar and lounge, a beauty salon and a café.
CHA welcomed local officials last week to unveil LIVIA East Hanover after nearly a year of construction and securing approvals.
“With the opening of LIVIA East Hanover, we are charting a new path for senior living, one that prioritizes wellness, quality of life and the well-being of residents above all else,” CHA’s William J. Colgan said. “A crucial component of care at LIVIA East Hanover is to create a meaningful relationship-building atmosphere through socialization and specialized programming. We could not be more proud to officially cut the ribbon, alongside town officials and stakeholders, on this outstanding new facility, which will undoubtedly make a difference in the lives of many.”
CHA is also planning a 310,000-square-foot LIVIA campus in Totowa that is slated to open early next year. In a news release, the firm said the concept will aim to encourage socialization and participation in a mix of activities and entertainment, thanks in part to the mix of amenities and services on site.
The East Hanover location provides assisted living, memory care, long-term care and rehabilitation services.
“We take a very progressive approach to senior living and have created a distinct home-like environment at LIVIA East Hanover that’s divided into four neighborhoods, which promote an added layer of socialization and engagement,” said Richard Molfetta, chief operating officer at LIVIA. “Through a combination of our elevated suite of amenities and wide variety of resident-focused activities, residents at LIVIA East Hanover are presented with the care, attention and setting that allows them to thrive.”
