The Hampshire Cos. has named Carolyn Lange as its new chief financial officer, the Morristown-based real estate investment and development firm announced Tuesday.
In her new role, Lange is responsible for the company’s overall financial management including planning, strategy, accounting, reporting and risk assessment, according to a news release. She comes to the post with more than 30 years of financial and asset management experience, most recently serving as CFO and treasurer for the Community Foundation of New Jersey, a nonprofit committed to creating and scaling custom investment and grantmaking solutions for purpose-driven individuals, families and businesses.
“It’s an honor to join The Hampshire Companies and help the firm continue to generate long-term value for investors and communities through transformative real estate investment,” Lange said. “I look forward to working closely with the executive leadership team to ensure the firm’s continued growth and success.”
Prior to her time at CFNJ, Lange was CFO of ByteGrid, a data center and IT infrastructure company specializing in providing secure, compliant hosting solutions for enterprises, government agencies and health care organizations, the news release said. She has also held leadership roles at several companies, including Goldman Sachs, Greystone Realty, The Mills Corp. and Trammell Crow Residential.
“Our success at The Hampshire Companies has always been rooted in the talent and expertise of our employees,” said James E. Hanson II, Hampshire’s CEO and president. “Carolyn’s impressive background and deep expertise makes her a perfect addition to our leadership team, and I’m excited to work with her and watch her excel in this role.”
Lange graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and holds a master’s in finance and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School, the news release said. She is a founding board member of the Friends of Arlington’s David M. Brown Planetarium in Arlington, Virginia, and serves as a guest lecturer at Rutgers Business School.
