Day Pitney LLP has opened its new 55,000-square-foot office in Parsippany after relocating from another building in the township.
The firm, which has 13 offices on the East Coast, said the move to 8 Sylvan Way follows its ongoing push to modernize its spaces to better meet the current and future needs of its attorneys, staff and clients. That includes a team of around 140 in New Jersey as of last summer, when the practice announced its plan to move from One Jefferson Road.
Day Pitney now occupies a space designed by Gensler, accounting for nearly a third of the roughly 176,000-square-foot building at 8 Sylvan and minutes from several major highways.

“This move reinforces the firm’s commitment to its rich 100+ year history in New Jersey, and it lends itself to a better client experience in a contemporary and modern space,” New Jersey Office Managing Partner Paul R. Marino said, adding:
“We’re thrilled to move into a space that offers cutting-edge technology, state-of-the-art resources and a more modern, efficient layout to better serve our clients and friends in New Jersey and beyond. We were intentional in selecting a location with top-tier amenities and accessibility. The design reflects a modern, efficient use of space and underscores our ongoing investment in the region.”
A JLL team led by Tim Greiner, David Stifelman and Noah Stewart represented the landlord, Orion Office REIT Inc. Greiner, along with the firm’s Mike Pietrowicz, Dan Loughlin, Kimberly Smith, Brendan McBride and Jonathan Ortiz, represented the tenant in the long-term transaction.
Day Pitney noted that the three-story building, which is just off Route 10 and minutes from other major highways, provides quick access to a host of dining and retail options, nearby downtowns and major airports. The building is among the township’s newest office properties, following a major renovation and addition in 2009 by The Hampshire Cos. as part of a plan to accommodate The Medicines Co.
At the time, Hampshire took the once-obsolete, 100,000-square-foot structure down to its steel and rebuilt it as a new 175,000-square-foot property. The building is now undergoing another major refresh, which includes enhancements to the parking lot, the addition of electric vehicle charging stations and improvements to the surrounding walking trails, as well as modern updates to the lobby, training rooms, boardroom, dining space and fitness center.
