Doren Development has secured a key local approval to build a new QuickChek store along Route 9 in Howell, with construction slated to begin just under a year from now.
The Passaic-based firm said the freestanding building will replace a former bank branch at the Strickland Road intersection, bringing new life to a 2.88-acre parcel on the southbound side. The township’s zoning board approved the project on Oct. 27, the developer said, setting the stage for an estimated groundbreaking date in the third quarter of 2026.
The project at 650 Route 9 will have both a QuickChek convenience store and gas station.
“We’re thrilled to bring QuickChek to a premier corner in Howell, NJ,” said Anthony Doren, director of leasing at Doren Development. “This project represents our continued focus on redeveloping underutilized sites into high-quality, service-oriented retail that enhances the surrounding community.”
