GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. has named Edward J. Huss as an associate principal and vice president, further bolstering its environmental assessment and remediation group in the region.
Huss, a licensed site remediation professional in New Jersey and a professional engineer, brings nearly 30 years of experience in designing, implementing and managing environmental engineering and remediation services projects, according to a news release. He has helped clients successfully clean up properties in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania such as Superfund and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act sites, fuel terminals and others affected by metal plating, plastics molding, chromium contamination and other industrial chemical releases.
He is based in GZA’s Fairfield office.
“Between Ed’s extensive experience implementing a wide range of environmental remediation technologies and his extensive, deep network of relationships with remediation experts throughout the region, Ed adds tremendous strength to one of GZA’s core service areas in New Jersey and the Mid-Atlantic,” GZA CEO and President Patrick Sheehan said.
According to the firm, Huss has deep expertise in innovative and advanced in situ remedial technologies such as bioremediation in situ chemical oxidation and reduction, in situ stabilization and solidification and other emerging remedial technologies. He has also completed many projects using conventional remedial techniques such as excavation and soil removal with dewatering and steel sheeting, slide-rail and cofferdam support, soil vapor extraction and air sparging and other remedial methods.
Huss holds a bachelor’s in environmental engineering from the University of Florida.
