Leasing is underway at a new 100-unit luxury apartment building in Plainfield, where a developer hopes to tap into the city’s fast-growing rental market.
Known as Centurion Sleepy Hollow, the four-story project by Landmark has brought a mix of one- and two-bedroom homes, amenities and ground-floor retail space to a well-established residential enclave, according to a news release. The building at 1222 South Ave. is also just a half-mile from NJ Transit’s Netherwood station, adding to its appeal as the builder looks to attract renters to its latest Centurion property in New Jersey.
Rents start from the low $2,000s with limited-time grand opening incentives, the firm said. Immediate occupancy is available.

Designed by Rotwein+Blake with interiors by Mary Cook Associates, Centurion Sleepy Hollow features upscale homes and amenities such as a modern fitness center, a yoga studio, a media room, work-from-home pods, a resident lounge and a fenced-in dog run. The property also has an outdoor terrace with grilling stations, plus on-site parking and what Landmark described as a premium package management system.
Renters, meantime, can take a short walk to Netherwood station to find direct service to Midtown Manhattan on NJ Transit’s Raritan Valley Line. They also have easy access to Route 22 and interstates 287 and 78.
Beyond the property, Plainfield has a growing mix of dining, shopping and everyday conveniences, plus seasonal events such as farmers markets and outdoor concerts that add to the area’s sense of community.
