JLL has promoted Angela Gentry to vice chairman, leasing advisory, for the New York tristate region, the commercial real estate services firm announced Thursday.
According to a news release, the move reflects Gentry’s significant contributions to the company and further strengthens its leadership team as it continues to expand its market position across the area. And it follows her arrival in 2022 as executive managing director, sales and platform for the region, a role created specifically for the industry veteran and former CBRE broker.
In her new position, Gentry will continue to play a critical role in advancing strategic growth initiatives, enhancing client engagement and driving collaboration across the firm’s leasing advisory platform, the news release said,
“Angela has been a transformational force for our New York business since the day she joined JLL,” said Peter Riguardi, chairman and president for JLL’s New York tristate region. “Her ability to align people, strategy and execution has elevated our platform and strengthened how we serve clients in an increasingly competitive market.”
According to the firm, Gentry has helped reshape the region’s business development strategy through new frameworks that align leasing advisory, marketing, research and technology throughout the sales cycle. Within three years at JLL, she built a sales enablement team responsible for more than $230 million in pursuits and helped drive 131 percent growth in new business opportunities, establishing the region’s program as a national model across the firm.
“Angela’s leadership has had a profound impact on our business and our people,” said Patrick Murphy, head of New York brokerage at JLL. “She brings a unique combination of strategic vision, operational excellence and market insight that has enhanced that way we approach client engagement and business development. We are confident she will continue to drive meaningful growth and innovation in this expanded role.”
Gentry brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate leadership experience across two of the industry’s leading firms, the news release said. Prior to joining JLL, she held senior leadership roles at CBRE, where she secured more than $80 million in new business contracts while developing scalable business solutions in major markets including Chicago and New York.
“I’m honored to take on this new role and grateful for the support of my colleagues and leadership team,” Gentry said. “JLL’s collaborative culture and commitment to innovation creates tremendous opportunities for growth. I look forward to further strengthening our business development initiatives and our platform to deliver results for our clients across the region.”
