The site of a well-known bar and restaurant in Burlington City has changed hands along with its liquor license, according to a brokerage team with Vantage Commercial.
The property, 148 West Broad St., also includes an outdoor seating area and an apartment above what was long known as Geraghty’s Pub & Restaurant. That made for a compelling hospitality and investment opportunity for the buyer, the brokers said, noting that Burlington City has one of New Jersey’s most historic downtowns.
“Properties like 148 West Broad Street carry more than just real estate value,” said Ken Richardson, a vice president and partner with Vantage Commercial. “They are part of the fabric of the community. This sale brought together the business, the real estate and the liquor license, creating a complete opportunity for the next owner to continue serving the Burlington City market.”
Richardson and John Doss, a senior adviser with the firm, arranged the sale by positioning the asset to buyers seeking both an established food and beverage operation and a strategically located mixed-use property. The team noted that the city’s historic district, walkable downtown and Delaware River setting continue to draw interest from entrepreneurs, restaurateurs and real estate investors seeking distinctive properties with local character.
“Burlington City has a strong sense of place, and 148 West Broad Street is the type of property that benefits from that character,” Doss said. “For buyers looking beyond standard commercial real estate, this was a chance to own a recognizable local asset while participating in the continued evolution of the downtown.”
