The Morris County Chamber of Commerce has honored Newmark Associates CRE with its Community Service Award, highlighting its commitment to the region during nearly four decades in business.
Based in the Cedar Knolls section of Hanover, the brokerage firm said it has built an active civic presence in Morris County and beyond. That includes championing the advancement of women and minorities in business, the company said, as well as highly visible philanthropic initiatives such as a summer internship program that brings commercial real estate education to students in the Newark school system.
Its founder and CEO, Susanne Newmark, has also served on the board of Jewish Family Services and remains a committed presence in the Morristown community and across Morris County, according to a news release. Newmark team members, meantime, serve in volunteer roles on multiple boards and organizations, including planning boards, economic development committees, recreation and parks advisory committees and multiple nonprofits.
“This recognition belongs to everyone at Newmark Associates, and to the community that has supported us for nearly 40 years,” Newmark said. “From the beginning, we have believed that a business owes something to the place where it operates — not just as a matter of principle, but because strong communities and strong businesses build each other.”
Newmark launched the firm in 1987 and now leads it alongside Nancy Glick. The company holds Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, Woman Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise certifications.
The Morris County Chamber, for its part, bestows its Community Service Award to recognize businesses and individuals whose contributions to civic, charitable and community life reflect exceptional dedication beyond the ordinary course of business, the news release said.
“We are deeply grateful to the Morris County Chamber of Commerce for this honor,” Newmark added. “Morris County has been home to this firm for nearly four decades. The relationships we have built here — with clients, colleagues and neighbors — are the foundation of everything we do.”
