Vita & Vita Realty Corp. has started on a 15,000-square-foot expansion to a Lincoln Park shopping center, its latest addition to a sizable retail portfolio in the borough.
The firm, which is based in Fairfield, expects to complete construction in early 2027 after breaking ground earlier this month at the junction of Route 202, Comly Road and Main Street. The project will bring its Lincoln Park Plaza property to 75,000 square feet, allowing it to grow a tenant roster that’s home to a 30,000-square-foot Ace Hardware & Home Center and several service retail and dining tenants, with parking for more than 300 cars.
Vita & Vita and the affiliated Lincoln Park Plaza Associates LLC acquired and razed four adjacent homes to make the expansion possible, according to Anthony Vita, the firm’s president. The developer, which expects to announce a new tenant soon, also donated land to the borough for future road widening.
Joe Mianecki of Mianecki Consulting was the engineer and Cutillo & Associates served as the architect. Fede Construction is the builder.
VVRC’s ground-up Lincoln Park projects also include Lincoln Square and The Corner Shoppes, which were completed in 2020 and 2024, respectively. The firm operates and manages shopping centers, office buildings and properties in New Jersey and six other states.
