Accurate Builders & Developers has opened the doors to a collection of 234 apartments in downtown Linden, in the latest addition to its growing multifamily portfolio.
Known as Citizen Linden, the complex at 307 West Elizabeth Ave. is steps from the city’s train station and a short walk from its main thoroughfare on Wood Avenue. Leasing is now underway at the property, where the developer welcomed local officials last week for a grand opening ceremony.
“In Linden, we are certainly no strangers to development, but I can say that Citizen Linden is one of the nicest of the new developments we have in town,” Linden Mayor Derek Armstead said. “Creating a project of this caliber requires a sense of collaboration, allowing everyone to come together for the common good. We have lowered taxes five years in a row, and the opening of this development will certainly assist in stabilizing taxes on a long-term basis.
“We are glad that the development team chose to work in Linden, and we look forward to seeing the building fill up quickly.”

The property, designed by Thomas J. Brennan Architects, also includes 4,500 square feet of retail space and a 292-space parking garage, according to a news release. Renters will have access to amenities such as a resident lounge with a fireplace and demonstration kitchen, a modern fitness center with virtual fitness and multiple co-working areas and conference rooms, along with several outdoor spaces.
Accurate Builders has tapped The Marketing Directors to lease the mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes, with net-effective monthly rents starting from $1,800. Initial occupancy is slated for mid-January.
“Accurate Builders & Developers is committed to transforming neighborhoods and enhancing the lives of its residents, and that is evident in the elegant design, distinctive architecture and attention to detail found at Citizen Linden,” said Jack Klugmann, the firm’s CEO and president. “We are delighted to open the doors at Citizen Linden, which will be a great addition to this centrally located community. With its vibrant culture, walkable downtown and convenient access to mass transit, Linden offers a great balance between suburban and city-centric living. Citizen Linden adds a modern residential option to that mix, and we look forward to welcoming our first residents.”
In announcing the project’s completion, the developer noted that Thomas J. Brennan Architects’ founder grew up in the city and graduated from Linden High School.
“I have a personal connection to Linden and was delighted to work on this project which brings a modern, urban design to a city that has so much to offer its residents,” Tom Brennan said. “The apartments are open and airy, and through a collaborative effort with the interior designer and landscape architect on behalf of Accurate Builders & Developers, we collectively created a community atmosphere that appeals to today’s residents.”
Residents at Citizen Linden will be minutes from a host of major highways and a downtown full of shops, restaurants and other businesses, along with multiple parks and recreation spaces throughout the city.
“Citizen Linden meets the increased demand in today’s market for luxury rental residences in a thriving downtown location with convenient mass-transit access,” said Jacqueline Urgo, president of The Marketing Directors. “It’s a striking, thoughtfully designed community that we expect to have widespread appeal.”
